
After an incredible rest, Barbra Streisand came back to the 70th Annual Tony Awards Sunday.
The notorious star shut the show by exhibiting the last recompense of the night for best musical to Hamilton. The blockbuster Broadway show took home 11 recompenses Sunday. "Much obliged to you, bless your heart. You're making me verklempt," the Funny Girl performer kidded.
Like host James Corden and Lin-Manuel Miranda, Babs paid tribute to those executed in the appalling Orlando shooting throughout the weekend and talked about the solace and satisfaction that the theater conveys to those from all diverse background"Tonight our euphoria is tinged with distress, yet we're here to observe Broadway and the magnificence that masterfulness can bring into this world," Streisand said. "The craftsmen that compose the plays, the authors and the lyricists who compose the tunes, and the on-screen characters who breath life into them. Workmanship can enthrall us and instruct us, and in circumstances such as these, console us."
Streisand last showed up at the Tony Awards in 1970 when she was granted with the Star of the Decade grant. The previous evening Streisand wore a long dark skirt with a high opening, a coordinating dark coat and a high-busted tan pullover with fancy sleeves and neckline.
"Thank god I picked the right outfit," she kidded, alluding to her pilgrim style group.
